Product Description

Water Retention Apparatus

This test method provides a means for determining the ability of mortars and plasters to retain water under suction. Test results may be used to determine compliance with specifications.

The apparatus is used in specification tests of masonry cement and physical testing of quicklime and hydrated lime.
These tests include : ASTM D1506, ASTM C110 and ASTM C207.

The complete unit consists of an aspirator pump, vacuum regulator, vacuum gauge, three-way stopcock, flask, rubber gasket, brass funnel, perforated brass dish, filter paper and hardwood stand.

The results obtained using this test method can be used to compare the relative ability of mortars and plasters to retain water under suction.

Unlike older models, this unit incorporates a vacuum regulator and gauge system in place of the old mercury manometer and relief column.

Supports the following standards : ASTM C110, ASTM C1506
